In the past, silver amalgam fillings were the option for restoring damaged or decayed teeth. These days, Dr. Ivi Z. Dental bonding and fillings are now created using a composite resin colored to match your teeth. Dental bonding is great for teeth that are chipped, cracked, misshapen, gapped, and more. It can even be used to whiten teeth. The teeth are prepared with light etching for a strong bond and then the resin is shaped over the imperfection in the tooth. A light is used to harden the resin and afterwards it is polished to shine like a normal tooth. For whitening, the resin is smoothed over the whole smile. For fillings, unsightly silver amalgam fillings are no longer needed. We use our composite resin in the same way as we use it for bonding. Bonding and White Fillings

Bonding works in a similar way, as it is mixed to be the same color as the tooth. This lets it be used by our dentist for staining or discoloration, filling gaps, and improving many other imperfections of the teeth.

While traditional systems are effective, there are many features of digital X-ray machines that help create a better overall image of your mouth. Digital radiography can be compared to traditional when it comes to taking the image, but that’s where the comparison ends. Both systems use small sensors to capture an image but the digital sensors are electronic and connect to the computer system rather than an x-ray machine. Unlike traditional x-rays, digital x-rays are available immediately. Patients no longer have to wait for the x-ray images to be developed and printed. Patient wait times are down considerably and their office visits are getting shorter and shorter. 

 

Studies have shown that digital x-rays use 90% less radiation than traditional systems. Patients who are concerned about radiation exposure are feeling much more comfortable with the digital method. Along with the lessening of radiation exposure, Dr. Sanguinetti is receiving a higher quality image. Higher quality images afford Dr. Sanguinetti the opportunity to correctly and precisely diagnose her patients more effectively. The most valued aspect of the digital x-ray system is the fact that it is environmentally friendly. Thin Veneers

They are bonded to the tooth so after a few days, our patients can eat with the veneers and not worry about them shifting or breaking off. Since they are thin, there isn’t as much contouring needed as there is with regular veneers in order to make room for the veneers.
